Kati will continue Beading Workshops with the Lovely Ladies at Sunrise Senior Living throughout the 2007
year.

In 2007, Kati continues to be the Director and Resident Mentor for the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues
Foundation’s Jazz and & Blues Youth Project. The program started in the Fall of 2006. It is a mentorship program for those young students 13-18 years of age, who play instruments or sing well. Monmouth County Arts Council Teen Arts Festival “Come & Get the Blues- Brief History, Demonstration &Jam Session”
Program is open to students in Monmouth County School System and enrolled in MCAC Teen Arts Festival

A workshop on the early history of the Blues and some of its artists such as W.C. Handy, Perry Bradford and Mamie Smith, Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Alberta Hunter, Son House, Charlie Patton, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Robert Johnson, Memphis Minnie, Thomas “Georgia” Dorsey, and the list is endless! Song collector and Smithsonian researcher Alan Lomax, and Producer John Hammond will be mentioned, information to wet the student’s appetite which can be a stepping stone to continuous research and curiosity. Comprised of discussions as well as live demonstrations, the students will get a chance to jam on their instruments at the end of the workshop.
